Counseling is only useful if there is trust based on honesty. If a client comes in wearing a mask that’s fine. So far not one adult or child has kept their mask on in session for more than the first 10 min. of the 1st session. Facial expressions are essential to how we communicate with each other. However, virtual sessions are offered by request as well. I specialize with those who love someone with an active substance use disorder. I help them put their own sanity into how they run their lives vs letting the insanity of addiction run the show.
